About

I haven't always been a photographer of people; it was being awestruck by the landscapes of northern Scotland whilst working as a conservation volunteer which initially inspired me to pick up a cheap Fuji compact camera and start recording my surroundings.

I enrolled on a photography course in 2000, and during my following years of study I began to photograph a varied range of subjects, including environmental issues, political demonstrations, portraiture and music photography.

It was when i discovered the photography of Chris Killip that i really became interested in documenting people and their lives, and i went on to discover the work of Donovan Wylie, Henri Cartier-Bresson and Tom Wood- who's documentation of Liverpool has been one of my most significant influences.

I am primarily a location photographer. I can use studios but mainly photograph people in their own homes or communities, using portable studio equipment.

Commercially I shoot on a Canon digital SLR, but also on high quality film cameras when an assignment requires me to, such as shooting for a week in the wilderness away from power sources, or for documentary photography where a DSLR would be too obtrusive. I can then scan the film to produce high-resolution digital files for display on the internet or for photographic prints.

You can commission me for a wide range of photography, including :

Event Photography - live gigs concerts and theatre productions, still photography for film productions, parties, festivals, community events and more.

Portrait Photography - PR shots for actors bands musicians, model portfolio, family portraits, pets etc.

Commercial / Buisiness Photography - Promotional photography for businesses and organisations, charities.

Thanks for looking at my work, if you would like me to photograph you, your event or business then please get in touch stating your requirements and i will get back to you as soon as i possibly can. I look forward to meeting some of you in the future.
